My name is Melonie Brister, I have two beautiful children and one amazing husband!
The Lord has blessed us immensely!
I have been taking pictures for, well as long as i have been able to hold a camera i guess. But my passion developed when i got married, which was 8 years ago. I have taught myself through lots of hard work and dedication! I took classes through NYIP, New York Institute of Photography.
I feel i have learned the best way, through personal experiences and examples. Text books can’t teach you that!!
Emotion is the one thing i try to capture in every photograph.
I love to meet new people and find out who they are. I try to make each session different but comfortable for my clients. I really LOVE what it do and actually enjoy my job.
Thank you for taking time to look at my work. I am very open to any questions you may have for me, weather it be a client or another photographer looking to make your mark. I feel if we cant rely on each other than whats the point of having a gift!

I’m just starting in photography and happened upon your blog while doing research and have spent the last hour poring over all your pictures! You are amazing! You truly capture the essence of each subject. If I can learn a quarter of what you know…heck an eighth….I’ll be in good shape. Wonderful job. It was a pleasure and I can’t wait to see more!

Hey There! I stumbled upon your website by chance and was happy to see that you also took NYIP courses…I am almost done! My website will be up and running sometime next week…I just recently came up with a new idea of how to make my mark but am very nervous and no one around me understands that! They just assume that because I can take some great pictures that there is nothing to worry about. I find it very difficult to not be nervous!
How did you get started? I find it hard to pick a place to start. I am excited about my new photography venture but I still worry sometimes. I enjoy photographing all kinds of different things, but didn’t want to get stuck JUST doing portraits. As I was taking the courses through NYIP, as you know we are taught all different kinds of photography and I LOVED it all (except photojournalism lol) and haven’t been able to stick with just one. I love photographing people and things in nature the most…It’s nice to watch people feel good about a photo they see of themselves…don’t know why! Anyways, any helpful hints or advice would be so greatly appreciated. Your work is amazing and very admirable for a person like me just starting out…not to mention its nice to know that someone else did the same kind of training! Thanks for your time!
